Enjoy Wolverhampton Dating

When arranging your first date, choosing the venue for this all-important occasion can often seem a bit daunting. However, if you live in Wolverhampton, the third largest city after Birmingham and Coventry in the West Midlands conurbation, you may find that you are spoilt for choice. Often overlooked in favour of its large neighbour, Wolverhampton nevertheless boasts a wonderfully diverse choice of restaurants and eateries. There are also numerous historical buildings and landmarks, which may serve as an impressive backdrop for what will hopefully be a memorable, romantic date.

The choice of meeting place can help to set the scene for the rest of the all-important first date. There are a number of distinctive landmarks to be found in and around the centre of Wolverhampton. There is the impressive 15th Century St Peter’s Collegiate Church, which stands atop a small hill overlooking the city centre. Another good meeting place, Wightwick Manor, an impressive Victorian manor house, whose structure and furnishings were heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.

As most dates involve enjoying a meal, washed down with a drink or three, the next important decision for the courting couple is choosing a suitable restaurant. This is where Wolverhampton really shines, with its wonderfully diverse selection of eateries.

As the unofficial ‘Curry Capital’ of the UK, it will come as no surprise to the dating couple to discover that the city has a number of quality Indian and south-east Asian restaurants. The top rated are the Penn Tandoori, Flamingo Pink, Indigo, Anise Restaurant and Malabar. Wolverhampton also boasts several good Italian restaurants, to include Paradiso, Catellani’s and Bella Restaurant.

If the couple would prefer a menu offering more traditional foods, then they will be spoilt for choice in Wolverhampton. They could not go wrong with booking a table for two at the cleverly-named Gluttons for Nourishment, The Holly Bush, Barley Mow or Café Latuske’s.

Meet at Local Venues

Following what should hopefully have been an enjoyable and romantic meal, the next decision is where to continue the date in Wolverhampton. The couple may wish to stroll through the city centre and enjoy a spot of retail therapy in the Mander and Wulfrun shopping centres; or when weather permits enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the city’s parks and open spaces.

Another option for an afternoon in Wolverhampton would be to enjoy an informative stroll around the city’s numerous cultural and artist venues. The most notable of these are Bilston Craft Gallery, Moseley Old Hall, The Black Country Living Museum or Wolverhampton Art Gallery, which houses England’s second largest Pop Art collection.

All being well, lovers of live music could extend the date to attend a concert at the Molineux Stadium or Wolverhampton Civic Hall. They can also enjoy a few drinks, let their hair down and enjoy the atmosphere in one of the city’s lively nightclubs. The more cultured could alternatively see a theatrical performance at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

An enjoyable date consisting of a well prepared meal, followed by a live concert or theatrical production or interesting exploration of Wolverhampton’s fascinating heritage -the perfect start to what should hopefully be a long-lasting and mutually loving relationship.
