Enjoy Hull Dating

That all-important first date can be a daunting prospect. Where to meet? Where to eat? What to do after the meal? These are all important considerations. If you live in and around the East Yorkshire city of Hull, however, this need not be a problem.

Officially named Kingston-Upon-Hull, this bustling city with a population of over a quarter of a million inhabitants is located alongside the River Hull where it meets the Humber. Hull has myriad attractions and amenities, many of which reflect the city’s long maritime history. On top of this, Hull offers a broad spectrum of eateries and restaurants, with menus with dishes from all over the world.

The first decision for the courting couple to make is where to meet. One of the city’s most prominent landmarks would be a good choice. Perhaps outside of the Guildhall or Hull New Theatre would be a good choice; as would be in Queen’s Gardens, the manicured grounds of the city’s Maritime Museum.

Once the dating couple have met up and exchanged pleasantries, they will need to decide on what to do first. A good idea would be to enjoy a well prepared meal in a good restaurant, where they will be able to chat and get to know each other in relaxed surroundings. This is where Hull comes up trumps, with its broad choice of top-rated restaurants, serving menus to suit all palates and dietary requirements.

The city’s top-rated restaurants are Port-Side Bistro - which serves a wonderful choice of English and Mediterranean dishes in a waterfront location, Brimble’s Bistro and Robbie Johnson’s. Those who would prefer a spicier, Asian menu may like to book a table for two in the city’s top Indian restaurants – Raj Pavilion, Cinnamon or Alachi, or perhaps a Chinese meal in Wokkas or Jinjibar. Lovers of Italian food will not go far wrong if they head to Da Gianni or Antico Forno.

Meet at Local Venues

Assuming the conversation had flowed over a meal and glass or three of fine wine, the couple may then wish to take in the sites and attractions of Hull. The Deep, the world’s only ‘submarium’ is perhaps the city biggest modern attraction and well worth a visit. Alternatively, they may wish to stroll hand-in-hand along Hull Marina or through the winding streets of the city’s Old Town and Museum Quarter. For some peace and tranquillity, they could head to Pearson Park or East Park, or further afield to the Yorkshire Wolds, which lie to the north of the city, or to the coastal resorts to the north-east.

An evening date can be completed by enjoying a show or live performance at Hull New Theatre or Hull Truck Theatre, or perhaps by dancing the night away in one of the city’s lively bars and nightclubs.

So, whatever the outcome of the first date in Hull, the couple can guarantee that their day spent in the city, with its lively, friendly atmosphere and many attractions will be a memorable and enjoyable experience.
